Isongololo: Alleviate Poverty Through Tourism project is a social responsibility programme funded by the National Department of Environmental Affairs of Tourism (DEAT). This programme is championed and implemented within the Buffalo City Municipality in the Eastern Cape. We have different tourism products namely: Accomodation, Arts & Crafts, Travel & Tours and Performing Artists. The nature of the project addresses soft issues pertaining to supporting tourism product owners, exposing local talent through platforms and facilitating sustainable growth. Platforms is also created through flea markets, exhibitions, live performances, and guided route tours.The project targets a limited number of operational products in different tourism product categories and sub-sectors with potential to develop into best and sustainable products through technical, management, tourism awareness and entrepreneurial capacity building and product developmentinterventions.
